Still Life at Window, 1967

Heavy impasto oil with palette knife & brush on Masonite board, 30" x 36". A few simple objects placed on a table to the left; an open window through which we see houses on the street where Schwaderer lived for a time. The oriental carpet is reduced to simple forms and line. The wooden planks of the floor are indicated with strong converging lines, forcing persepective, as does the table, strongly contrasting the flattened planes of the houses outside.
