Still Life with Glass Coffee Pot, 1967

Heavy impasto oil with palette knife & brush on Masonite board. This was painted in Schwaderer's little kitchen; the pot of living flowers on the windowsill, the straight-backed wooden chair, the morning light streaming in through the window, the ceramic cup & saucer, the glass perking pot and wineglass, the carton of orange juice, all were important elements in Schwaderer's daily life and yes, the tablecloth looked exactly as it was painted. Strong geometric tektonics against natural shapes was the idea behind this painting.
